Demond E. Bledsoe, Ph.D., LPC

Dr. Demond Bledsoe is a licensed professional counselor with over the 20 years experience working with individuals and families managing challenging life situations. Dr. Bledsoe uses a client-centered and recovery-oriented approach to counseling which integrates knowledge from his training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. His approach to therapy focuses on the client as the expert. Dr. Bledsoe develops goals in collaboration with each individual, couple, or family and works as a partner to achieve the desired outcomes. Working primarily with adolescents and adults, Dr. Bledsoe’s extensive experience includes addictions and co-occurring disorders, trauma counseling, family and couples therapy.

Dr. Bledsoe has experience working in diverse clinical settings. He has held several positions in residential treatment facilities, community agencies, outpatient mental health and substance abuse clinics and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. Dr. Bledsoe has received advanced training to work with a variety of concerns including trauma, grief, mood disorders, substance use and addictions, and anxiety. Dr. Bledsoe has extensive knowledge and experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Recognizing the importance of remaining knowledgeable about current topics, trends, and treatments, Dr. Bledsoe remains involved as an active member of the American Counseling Association. He has delivered several presentations at national conferences, as well as numerous state and local conferences. His authorship and research has focused on psychological trauma, clinical supervision, and multicultural issues in counseling and counselor education. Most recently, Dr. Bledsoe’s publications have included chapters in texts related to trauma and multicultural issues in school counseling.

Dr. Bledsoe completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. He received a Master’s Degree in Community and Agency Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania and a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University. Currently, Dr. Bledsoe is an adjunct faculty member at California University of Pennsylvania. He has also served as adjunct faculty at Waynesburg University, where he continues his service to the counselor education community as a member of the Graduate Counseling Advisory Board. Dr. Bledsoe has served on the Multicultural Advisory Committee for Pennsylvania’s Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and chaired several committees focused on ensuring the appropriate delivery of culturally competent and relevant services.

Samantha Gimigliano, M.S., LPC

Samantha Gimigliano is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Masters in Community and Agency Counseling. Ms. Gimigliano has extensive experience working in private practice settings and has done so since obtaining her professional license in 2008. In addition to her experience in private practice, Samantha has worked in a variety of clinical settings including The Bradley Center, Try-Again Homes, Gateway Rehabilitation Center and School-Based Mental Health Services through Wesley Spectrum.  Currently Samantha and her therapy dog, Truman, are contracted through Beaver Area School District to provide mental health support services, consultation and training services for the district in grades k-12. Additionally, Samantha holds a senior CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) instructor certificate.

Ms. Gimigliano specializes in working with teenagers and young adults living with various mental health and co-occurring disorders and symptoms. Her therapeutic approach is informed by her belief in working with clients to develop the skills for self-advocacy. She utilizes a holistic approach towards treatment to help clients transfer skills and identify strengths learned in sessions to their every day lives. Ms. Gimigliano integrates her training in Brainspotting, a brain-based treatment used to guide clients of all ages in overcoming the trauma in their lives, into her therapeutic approach.

Carrie L. Vogelsang, M.S.C.P., LPC

Carrie L. Vogelsang is a Licensed Professional Counselor that has worked as a counselor for over 12 years. In these years she has offered help in various settings. Her focus has primarily been with children, adolescents and teenagers. Carrie has worked within a partial hospital setting, a private school setting and within a Pediatricians office seeing clients with a diverse range of disorders. Her expertise is treating Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment disorders and helping parents with parenting techniques. In treating younger children, she has been trained and has used PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction therapy) to help parents of younger children with behavioral concerns. She also has expertise in treating Postpartum and Perinatal issues during pregnancy or following childbirth. 

Carrie Vogelsang graduated with a Bachelors of Psychology in 2004 from California University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Counseling Psychology from Chatham University in 2008. She truly believes that learning is a lifelong commitment in counseling and continues to learn from her experience with clients and by constantly pursuing new trends/needs in counseling. 

In treatment she focuses on building a trusting relationship with the individual and uses a collaborative approach with the client to developing the course of treatment to renew balance in their life. She believes that treatment can take a short period of time or longer depending on the client.  As a therapist and parent, Carrie uses an Integrative Approach for children to shed light on where children are in their development and the function of their behavior. In addition, she uses play therapy to help engage the children in the process and as a teaching method.  In treating older clients, she uses a comprehensive range of techniques like, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance techniques.

Courtney Pro, M.S., LPC

Courtney Pro is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and A Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ms. Pro has experience working with adolescents in the school setting treating addressing concerns related to depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and bipolar disorders. Ms. Pro also has extensive experience working in outpatient treatment settings with adults experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.

Ms. Pro’s theoretical orientation is informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. She integrates these therapeutic techniques into a framework that empowers clients as the achieve their goals in therapy.

Shannon Bodine, M.S., LPC, NCC

Shannon Bodine is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. 

Ms. Bodine has experience working with children and adolescents, facing a wide variety of mental health diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, conduct disorder, and schizophrenia. She has served children and families at prestigious organizations such as The Barber National Institute and The Bradley Center. Ms. Bodine has sought specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Alternatives for Families Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She also received extensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis which was an effective intervention while at The Barber Institute. 

Ms. Bodine specializes in working with children and adolescents and has extensive experience working with those who have been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum disorder. She uses an integrated approach to counseling drawing on her training in Applied Behavior Analysis, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy treatment models. Her complementary approach helps the client focus on emotion regulation, positive coping skills, and essential life skills.

Jeremy Abel, Ph.D., LPC

Jeremy Abel is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been working in the field of counseling for 10 years. Dr. Abel has worked extensively in that time with clients who have a multitude of mental health issues, various addiction problems, and trauma. Dr. Abel integrates knowledge from his training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing into therapy. He has provided counseling in several clinical settings including an inpatient addiction facility, community substance use disorder and mental health clinics, and in-home service providers. 

Dr. Abel utilizes a client-focused and holistic approach to therapy that takes into account all aspects of the individual and their life experiences. He believes in working collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals for treatment. Working primarily with adolescents and adults, Dr. Abel has assisted clients working through issues with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, addiction, relationships, grief, trauma, and PTSD. 

Dr. Abel completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh and received his master’s degree in Community and Agency Counseling from California University of Pennsylvanian where he continues to serve on the Alumni Advisory Board. Dr. Abel completed his doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University and is also an adjunct faculty member at Duquesne University and California University of Pennsylvania.
